Surrounded by coconut trees and bougainvillea, the 23 buff-colored buildings comprising this resort are on Nettle Bay, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean's largest lagoon.
Guests can choose the All-Inclusive option or the accommodations-only plan. The 271 rooms, 1-bedroom suites, and duplexes have air-conditioning, a complete kitchenette, satellite TV, an in-room safe, at least 1 full bath, and 1 king-size bed, 2 twin beds, or both. The balcony or terrace has an ocean, lagoon, or garden view. The rooms have a living area; the suites, a living area with a sofa bed; and the duplexes, a living/dining area with a sofa bed. The tropical decor of white walls and ceilings, gray tile floors, and red rattan furniture is as inviting as it is uplifting.
In the morning, have an American-style breakfast at the open-air La Terrasse overlooking the lagoon. For dinner, the restaurant has French and international cuisine as well as theme buffets, such as Mexican and Creole, on the menu. Meals are accompanied by nightly entertainment. Have a casual lunch, open-air and beachside, at Ti Case. The salads, French and Italian sandwiches, pizza, and other offerings also can be prepared for take-away. The Coconut Bar, open from late morning to midnight, has a daily Happy Hour. In the evenings, stop by for karaoke, salsa lessons, floor shows, and live music. More dining and entertainment choices abound in nearby Marigot, French St. Martin's capital.
A secluded spa tub is next to one of the freshwater swimming pools; a massage cabana is adjacent to the other. The water sports center has catamarans, kayaks, pedal boats, windsurfers, and snorkeling gear. If you're in the mood to try something new, take the free introductory scuba diving course. Play volleyball on the 250-yard beach, which has a playground for kids. The hotel also has a lighted tennis court, a fitness room, and a pool table. A complimentary shuttle can take you to the casino any night of the week.
